BDCC Sunday Doubles 2021-2022
- Each round consists of 4 Sunday games played between 10am and 2pm.
- The plan is to have 4 rounds of 4 games.
- You commit for only one round at a time.
- Beginners are welcome; we will attempt to balance the teams when beginners are involved.
- During the season, you can participate in as many rounds as you wish.
- The first round will start on October 31st around 10:30 a.m.
- Register with a partner or alone. The ideal would be to have mostly mixed teams.
- You can drop out after each round, or change partners from one round to another, or leave and come back later.
- Register online for Round #1 before October 27th with Pierre Lesage (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
- Spares are allowed, but the team will incur a slight penalty in scoring.
- Ideally, all teams will be mixed, although same-sex teams are allowed, again with a slight penalty in scoring.
- Each player accumulates individual points throughout the season. Season championship medals go to the players with the highest individual cumulative points.
- There could also be championship finals between the winning teams of each round.
- Starting times for the games will be discussed at a meeting between the first two draws on the first Sunday. These may change according to preferences and circumstances (we have 3 sheets available between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.).
- Games will consist of 6 ends. The doubles format is adapted from Olympic rules (typically 75-80 minutes per game).
- The thrower cannot chase or sweep his/her own rock unless both teams agree that they will chase (just saying “we don’t mind” is not sufficient).
